We are fortunate to collaborate with university students from across the country as they complete internships with our office for course credit.
If your university does not have an established internship program with our office, we encourage you to reach out to us. We are happy to explore potential opportunities to establish a for-credit internship tailored to your interests and educational requirements.
Application Process
To apply for an internship with our office, please provide the following documents:
• A cover letter outlining your interest in the internship
• Your CV
• Your transcripts
• A writing sample (5 to 10 pages, ideally on a topic that aligns with our office’s work)

A Message from Senator McPhedran
When I was first appointed to the Senate of Canada by the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau in November 2016, I made a commitment to bring youth to the Senate and the Senate to youth.
I firmly believe that youth are essential agents of change and are not only the leaders of tomorrow but also the leaders of today. Through this internship opportunity, I hope you will have the chance to advocate, research, and explore avenues of our democracy that further your interest in our institutions while amplifying your voice.
